Summer is in full swing, and with the gorgeous weather comes the opportunity for many families to travel across the state, or even across the country for vacation. Being prepared for a long trip can save your family a lot of hassle when you are down the road. Here is a prep list to check off when you are getting ready to hit the road for your family summer vacation: 1. Plan your stops ahead of time. How many times have you been cruising along, rocking out with some summer tunes and passed the sobering signs of recent disaster? Drive Less Often This is a no-brainer, just drive less often. Whether it’s planning ahead so there’s less trips to the grocery store, or taking public transit, walking or biking to nearby places. How about a carpool to work instead? The less often you drive your car, the less gasoline you’ll need to buy. Buy Gasoline at Certain Times Buying gas on certain days and at certain times will help catch that good price before it goes up.
