I came here after the splash shield on my Prius cracked from driving through deep snow and was told the exact 3 parts that I needed to get. I ordered those 3 parts and they put on 2 of those parts telling me they couldn’t find a place for the 3rd part (beginning of my suspicions). About 2 weeks later the splash shield on the highway came off damaging other parts underneath the car. The previous replacement was after 5 years of driving through snow and mountains and this happened after 2 weeks of driving through urban streets with one light snow. I came back telling them that they just have not installed it properly and one of the main mechanics just got angry at me from the moment we started talking, denied everything, and interrupted me every time I tried talking. All in all, I lost about $200 not including the new damage from that large piece coming out on the highway and damaging other areas under the car (at a minimum $300). Dishonest and not willing to admit that some of their mechanics basically screwed up. Updates to refute this dishonest man trying to save face: the “repair” was originally done on the 15th and I came back on the 5th (so 3 weeks) and while I drive for Uber/Lyft on the side, I’m a full time student and didn’t put close to 4K miles on my car in that time (not that that would be an excuse in any case for a piece coming off). I don’t keep track but a liberal estimate is that at most I drove 2K Next point- the piece came off before the major snow storms— I called to come in but was told you wouldn’t have any time until the following week which is when I did come after the major snow and so yes the car was packed with ice underneath as happens w so many cars in Colorado. And I’ve been backing off curbs for 5 years and 155K so it doesn’t make sense that a brand new piece that was installed properly would fly off in a few weeks. Next and perhaps most importantly- the body work and damage to the front fascia which you are talking about IS the additional damage. That whole front bumper was basically perfect prior to that piece flying off. Lastly, I find your apology disingenuous considering how loud and disrespectful you were towards me never even letting me talk. Please apologize for that. That would be genuine.
There are a couple of omissions in this review. First, your Prius came in to us with a damaged front fascia from a previous accident and the under car splash shields completely missing. It is ordinarily my policy that we do not install customer supplied parts because of warranty issues and situations like this. I chose to break my own rule and allow Meir to get the parts himself in an effort to help him out with a repair that should have been going to a body shop instead of us. Meir you had driven your Prius almost 4000 miles and just shy of a month had passed by the time your car came back in to us. You are an Uber/Lyft driver and it is obvious that you get a lot of use out of your car. Our observation was that the front part of the splash shield likely caught on a curb as you were backing away from it and broke the fasteners that we used to secure it. You may have not even realized this. It is easy for this to happen to anyone and especially a Prius because they are designed to sit very low to the ground. You seemed determined to blame us for ALL of this when we were trying to help you from the beginning. Is it possible that you had something to do with this since you are the one who drives the car? Second, it came in with large amounts of dirty snow packed under it again indicating that you had driven through deep snow again during our most recent snowstorms. I took images to document this. Also, I am not sure what you mean about additional damage beyond the damage that was already there. It is ALWAYS in my heart to help people, otherwise I wouldn't be in business, but sometimes it bites me and bites can hurt. I am willing to give you half of the $69.33 back for the labor you paid us to install your parts. That way we both take some ownership of this incident. I broke my own policy and I have to own that. In hind sight we should have just sent you to a body shop from the beginning. I am very sorry that this happened. John - Owner
